The gaming industry has a number of top games in store this year, no matter what kind of player you are. So, ranging from follow up versions of classic games to new projects, what are some of the biggest and most expected games in 2025?

Assassin’s Creed Shadows – March 20

For fans of the Assassin’s Creed series, 2025 will bring something truly special. Assassin’s Creed Shadows marks the franchise’s long-awaited return to Japan, offering a fresh perspective after recent open-world-focused entries. Although Assassin’s Creed Mirage took a step back towards its stealth origins, Shadows is a continuation of this with a focused and stealth environment game. It puts players in the shoes of a shinobi within the ancient Japanese social order, requiring them to outwit foes through classical hiding and running techniques that have become a trademark within the series.

Doom: The Dark Ages – May 15

One of the most influential first-person shooters in gaming history is back with a dramatic twist in Doom: The Dark Ages. This new installment takes Doom Guy into the past, plunging him into a grim medieval fantasy world. Set in a prequel timeline, the game promises to blend Doom’s fast-paced action with new, darker, and more fantastical elements. Think swords, castles, and demons—all with the signature intensity that fans have come to expect from the Doom franchise.

Grand Theft Auto 6 – 2025 (No Specific Date Yet)

It goes without saying that there is so much buzz about Grand Theft Auto 6. The upcoming Rockstar game seems like it will really make a difference. This time, players will be taken to the Vice City, but not the one we used to know – now it’s even larger and more corrupt. And how can one remain calm when there are talks about expanding the map, introducing new gameplay features, and writing even more interesting scripts than ever? GTA 6 is poised to take open-world gaming to greater heights by expanding on its predecessors’ strengths and introducing new elements to the game. Even though they have not communicated any particular day for its launch, going by Rockstar’s reputation and the current talk, this will be the game that everyone will want to get in 2025.

Death Stranding 2 – 2025

Hideo Kojima’s games are never ordinary, and Death Stranding 2 is no exception. Following the first game’s success in blending sci-fi, walking simulators, and bizarre narratives, the sequel promises to be another mind-bending experience. Sam Bridges returns, tasked with reconnecting a fragmented world and facing new apocalyptic threats. If the eerie trailers are anything to go by, expect the same surreal atmosphere, deep storytelling, and strange yet endearing characters. As with all Kojima projects, Death Stranding 2 will likely redefine what we expect from an open-world experience. Fans are hoping the game will launch on PC in 2025, though there has been no confirmation on that front.

Dying Light: The Beast – 2025

Fans of Dying Light have a game to expect. They will soon get a chance to play Dying Light: The Beast, an add-on for the popular zombie survival franchise with a unique storyline. The game is expected to come out in 2025 and as usual, there will be a lot of zombies for players to parkour around. If you are running on the roofs away from the infected or fighting with the ugly freaks – The Beast will give you a portion of real fun! Brace yourself for an improved terror-filled environment that will surely leave you on the edge of your seat throughout the game.

2025 is shaping up to be a great year for gaming. Whether you’re into stealth, massive shooters, crime sprees, or surviving the zombie apocalypse, you can find something interesting. Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Doom: The Dark Ages, GTA 6, Death Stranding 2, and Dying Light: The Beast are just a few of the games that are sure to get gamers talking. It’s going to be a fun year—just be ready for a lot of delays and “release date TBD” notices along the way. But hey, it’ll be worth the wait!
